If you’ve pumped untold quantities of iron and wrung every ounce of sweat from Ring Fit Adventure, it’s possible you’re on the look out for your next fitness fix on Switch. There are several to choose from, but it looks like there’s a new challenger on the block: enter Let’s Get Fit.
Freshly announced for “Spring 2022” from developers Exkee and Voxler (who make the Let’s Sing series), this upcoming fitness game looks to the naked eye like it could be an add-on mode for Fortnite. Hey, crazier things have happened, right? But no, Epic hasn’t snapped up these devs (yet). The real question, then, is: Will this be a contender or pretender to Ring Fit’s throne?
As you can see from the screenshots further down the page, this Switch-exclusive will offer workouts — both pre-made and custom — made up of various exercises. High intensity, low intensity, er, medium intensity (all the intensities, probably), plus specific muscle group targeting, online leaderboards, progress tracking calendars and four different coaches. According to PR:
The Nintendo Switch’s Joy-Con controllers track the player’s movement. In combination with a set of straps, which will be available with the physical edition of Let’s Get Fit as well as separately, players will get the most out of the training exercises.
So far, so ‘yep, sounds like a fitness game’. There’s not much else to go on at the moment — no price, and no solid date, although it is confirmed that “Let’s Get Fit will be a digital release in the Americas”.
We’ll leave it to these screens to convey a little bit more about the game:
It’s clear that Let’s Get Fit will have an uphill struggle if it wants to dethrone Ring Fit Adventure as Switch’s premier fitness app (we’ve also got soft sports for the Fitness Boxing games, too). We’ll find out if it’s got the stamina and the mettle to beat the best in Spring.
