Lenovo Releases Two New High End Ryzen Powered Laptops 2

Lenovo’s Bright IdeaPad Slims

Lenovo didn’t just add two token Ryzen powered laptops to their stable, they installed them in two very impressive models.  The IdeaPad Slim 7 Carbon has the trademarked carbon lid and aluminum body and sports a 14″ OLED 16:10 screen with a resolution of 2880×1800 and a peak refresh rate of 90Hz.  Inside is a Ryzen 7 5800U and up to 16GB of DDR4 and a 1TB NVMe drive, with the option to add an NVIDIA GeForce MX450.

If processing power trumps a fancy screen for you then the Lenovo Slim 7 Pro is the way to go.  You sacrifice the OLED screen for an IPS display that can offer 120Hz refresh if you opt to pay a little extra, even if you don’t 500nits brightness and 100% AdobeSRGB coverage comes with the base display as well.

The internals of the Slim 7 Pro include a Ryzen 7 5800H with the same limits on memory and storage as the Slim 7 Carbon but it also comes with a GPU, you can choose from several NVIDIA models including a GeForce RTX 3050.  The prices start at $1300 for the Slim 7 Carbon and $1450 for the Slim 7 Pro, both of which should be available next month … assuming they can find the parts.
