Die By The Blade Smashes Kickstarter Goal To Bring “One-Hit-Kill” Sword Fighting To Switch

Nintendo

Die By The Blade, a ‘one-hit-kill’ fighting game that’s been crowdfunding on Kickstarter, has smashed its goal to secure a release on Switch.

A promising looking affair, Die By The Blade is inspired by the likes of Bushido Blade and Way of the Samurai, having players choosing their character, selecting their favourite sword, and taking on the opposition for some tasty one-on-one combat.

It will boast a single-player campaign against the AI as well as “intense, fast-paced multiplayer”. Peter Nagy, founder and CEO of publisher Grindstone, says that “With this funding, the team will be further adding to the gameplay experience with higher quality animation, expanded character roster and even more weapons.”

The team’s not done there, though, as stretch goals have been put in place to get even more content into the game when it eventually releases. You can check out the Kickstarter campaign here if you’re interested in learning more and backing the project – it still has eleven days to go.

The game’s currently scheduled for a June 2021 launch, so if you’re liking the look of it, a Kickstarter pledge should hopefully secure you a copy for that timeframe.
