Subscriber Only Streams

Twitch just announced the release of Subscriber-only streams and I have seen plenty of people already saying it is a bad thing other saying it is the greatest thing since sliced bread I am sure there will be plenty of streamers that will take advantage of it to the point the new feature gets abused.

But personally, I do think it can be used as intended and be a great tool for rewarding the good folks supporting you via subscribing. The ability to do a once a month subscriber stream can be a great way to treat your subscribers probably be best till to wait till you have built up a fair amount of subscribers to make it worthwhile but I do feel the feature would be complete if you could also include Patreon supporters too.

The requirements for the ability to start subscriber streams are as follows:

  1. Must be a Twitch Affiliate or Twitch Partner.
  2. Must have broadcast at least 90 unique days as Affiliate or Partner
  3. Must not have violated Twitch Community Guidelines in your last 90 unique broadcast days. This means that if your channel received a suspension, you would need to broadcast on 90 different days without another violation to be eligible again.

To start a Subscriber stream:

  1. Go to your Broadcaster Dashboard.
  2. Select Subscribers under the Audience section of your Stream Information tab.
  3. Moderators and VIPs are able to view Subscriber Streams by default. If you wish to remove their access, uncheck their respective checkboxes in the Audience section.
  4. Begin your stream.

Who can watch Subscriber streams:

  1. Subscribers (Of coarse)
  2. Moderators
  3. VIP’s
